One unexpected side effect of the COVID-19 pandemic is the major lumber shortage and resulting lumber price increases. This lumber shortage has not only affected Keystone Homes, but many home-builders across the country.
Since April 2020, lumber prices have risen 375 percent.
With the lumber supply already low at the onset of the pandemic, lumber quickly became highly sought-after. More people were confined to their homes and used this time to work on building decks or finishing DIY projects- quickly eating up the available lumber supply. Combined with a lack of certified truck drivers available to get lumber from point A to point B, prices for lumber have risen exponentially.
Because of the continual fluctuation in both pricing and availability and in order to ensure full transparency with our prospects, for the time being, we will be unable to provide pricing or accept agreements for homes that have not yet been framed. Once the home is framed, pricing will be determined and made available and we will begin accepting agreements.
With all of the changes and uncertainties the pandemic has brought on, be assured that we are working diligently to be able to provide our prospects with the most accurate and timely information as soon as it is available. We appreciate your understanding and ask that you continue to be flexible and patient with us as we’re doing our best to navigate these uncertain times.
