Once the closing is completed, you’re officially a homeowner! The final step is to move into your new home and maintain your home throughout its lifetime. To help you prepare for your move and transition smoothly into the maintenance of your new home, here are some final tips to keep in mind:

1. Plan Your Move: Schedule your move, set up utilities, and start unpacking to make your new place feel like home. Information for who to call to set up your utilities is included in your closing folder at closing. 

2. Review Your Warranties: Familiarize yourself with any warranties, to include your Keystone warranty and/or manufacturers warranties on appliances or systems included in your new home. 

• Protip 1: If you purchased your home through us, you can access your warranty information 24/7 on our Warranty Page! 
• Protip 2: Your HVAC unit comes with a manufacturer's warranty, but is only eligible once you’ve registered your unit. This must be done within the time frame provided by the applicable HVAC company. This and other registration information can be found either in your closing folder or inside of the home, after closing. 

3. Document Key Contacts: Contact information for our key service providers or maintenance companies in your area are provided to you via a sticker on the inside cabinet, underneath the sink in your new home. At Orientation your Builder will show where to locate this contact sticker and overview the contact information it holds. 

4. Maintain Your New Home: Home maintenance is the key to preserving its value and keeping it in great condition. Regularly check and service essential systems like HVAC, plumbing, and more to prevent costly repairs. Keep your home in top shape by addressing wear and tear as it arises and perform seasonal tasks such as gutter cleaning and weatherproofing.
