THE KEYSTONE PROCESS

OUR 13-STEP PROCESS  ALLOWS US TO STAY BUYER-FOCUSED

At Keystone, our seamless, streamlined process makes us different. Because it’s our ultimate mission to make the home buying process as smooth as possible, we hone in on a 13-step process that’s always buyer-focused. By pacing our work while we build your home and tracking our progress along the way, we can be sure that we’re working efficiently and diligently — without compromising quality. We make building your dream home our top priority!

While we recommend these steps during the home buying process, these steps do not necessarily need to be completed in the order indicated below

13 Step Process

OUR PROCESS

Sales Conselor - Sandy Barsiq

STEP 1 - SALES COUNSELOR

Our Online Sales Counselor, Sandy Barsiq, will be available online to provide information, answer questions and help connect you with one of our neighborhood specialists so that you can find your dream home! Schedule Your Appointment Today!

Neighborhood Specialist

STEP 2 - NEIGHBORHOOD SPECIALIST

Partnering with a neighborhood specialist is a great benefit for any home buyer. Our neighborhood specialists use their knowledge of our communities and floor-plans to help you find the neighborhood and plan that best suites your wants and needs- all at an affordable price!

Get Preapproved

STEP 3 - GET PREAPPROVED

First, it is NOT required that you get preapproved before looking at our homes, and our agreements are all subject to financing. But there are some benefits to getting preapproved first. If you’re not paying cash, it’s time to line up financing. Our neighborhood specialists can put you in touch with one of the best lenders in the area.

Pick Your Home

STEP 4 - PICK YOUR HOME

Choose from one of our completed, available homes, or select a home site and floor plan and personalize and build from the ground up. Available homes are move-in ready, and if you select a site and personalize a home, expect around four months from the time you sign an agreement, to closing. Once you’ve decided what is best for your needs, you’re ready to take the next step!

The Agreement

STEP 5 - THE AGREEMENT

Once you’re ready to take the home off the market or begin construction on your home, it’s time to sit down with our neighborhood specialist to go over the Keystone purchase agreement. This agreement outlines the specific details of what happens between now and when you close on your new home. Click here to view a sample purchase agreement.

If you’re buying a completed home, skip to Step 12!

Design Appointment

STEP 6 - DESIGN APPOINTMENT

Head over to our Design Studio and meet our Design Studio Manager! At Keystone, we offer a wide variety of unique interior styles. We encourage you to get creative and take full advantage of the option to personalize your home. Here you will have the opportunity to choose your cabinets, countertops, flooring and other features that will help give your home the perfect personal touch!

OUR CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

Construction Begins

STEP 7 - CONSTRUCTION BEGINS

It’s quiet at first. A little too quiet. You’ve driven by your site several times and nothing has happened. This is because the builder is busy getting permits, planning the grading, foundation layout, getting plans approved, finalizing and communicating plans to all of Keystone’s many trade partners, and scheduling construction. After a few weeks, dirt is moved, and a start package is delivered. Then the physical construction begins.

Foundation

STEP 8 - FOUNDATION

Finally, construction you can see! The slab and footings are dug, plumbing is laid and checked, moisture barrier is put down, and the slab is poured. This step, that happens so quickly, will be the foundation upon which your home is built.

Framing, Ductwork, Drywall

STEP 9 - FRAMING, DUCTWORK, DRYWALL

Now that the foundation is in, it’s time to go vertical. Sills and studs, beams and floor and ceiling trusses are all visible while the bones of the home are formed. This happens quickly at first. The roof follows, plumbing, electrical, heating and air, and insulation are added. Construction slows at this point as the complexity increases. Drywall is added. It’s time for finishing.

Finishing

STEP 10 - FINISHING

Here is where your design studio selections begin to shine! Painting, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, landscaping, fixtures, and appliances are all additions in this part of the homebuilding process. But the home isn’t complete until all touch-ups are done.

Home Complete

STEP 11 - COMPLETE

We’re excited to say we have completed construction on this new home! It has been built, framed, and finished - all the boxes are checked!

Orientation

STEP 12 - ORIENTATION

Time to get excited about your upcoming move! A week or two prior to closing, you meet your Keystone builder, to be introduced to the home, at your guided orientation. Your builder-guide will show you how to use your home, answer any questions, and introduce you to the warranty program.

Closing and Welcome Home

STEP 13 - CLOSING AND WELCOME HOME

Our team at Keystone Homes and our approved lenders work hard to make the process of building your new home as easy as possible. But it's still a tremendous undertaking for all involved, from collecting the necessary documents to signing your name dozens of times to finalizing what is most likely your largest investment ever. But that will all be in the past when this step is finished. The day has arrived to get your keys! It's time to move in, invite your family and friends to visit, plan your housewarming party and show off your new Keystone home! From all of us at Keystone Homes, thank you for choosing us!
